Roasted brussel sprouts….they’re easy, healthy and delicious.
When I first started cooking brussel sprouts, I would drown them in water and end up with healthy mush. Now, I like them tender-firm and slightly seasoned. Impeccably delicious. I think that’s how they’re supposed to be cooked. If you haven’t tried them, try them; they’re amazing and are a perfect side dish.
Honey Glazed Brussel Sprouts
- 1/2 pound fresh brussel sprouts
- 3-4 slices bacon
- garlic salt
- black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons honey
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut ends off brussel sprouts and slice in half and set aside. Cook bacon in frying pan over medium heat until browned on both sides. Remove bacon from pan and place on paper towels to drain. Crumble bacon when cool to the touch. Add brussel sprouts and onion to bacon grease. Season brussel sprouts with garlic salt and black pepper. Stir occasionally. Cook for about five minutes. Pour brussel sprouts in baking dish and roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and drizzle with honey and add bacon. Bake an additional 5-7 minutes. Refrain from eating them all.
